Join SSWAA’s School Opening Townhall event, where school social workers will be reminded of the importance of the profession’s core competencies and the impactful, life-changing contributions made throughout the country. Speaker: Terriyln C. Rivers-Cannon, MSW, EdD, is a co-author, speaker, and transformative leader who inspires everyone she meets. Shes devoted over 20 years to improving the lives of ALL school-aged populations. She has served in many leadership roles including past District and State Presidents for Georgia, SSWAA Endowment Board member, and Southern Regional Representative. As a history maker in the field of Social Work, Dr. Rivers-Cannon has received letters of acknowledgment, recognition, and Proclamations from Georgia School Superintendent Richard Woods, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Senator Tonya Anderson, and U.S. Representative Henry Hank” Johnson Jr. along with having April   5th designated as Dr. Terriyln Rivers-Cannon Day. Dr. RC has collaborated on several publications with the Georgia Department of Education and School Social Workers Association of America. She is the Founder and CEO of Soar with K.AT.I.E. (Karing Actions Towards Inspiring Eagles)” and hosts a nationally syndicated radio/talk show, Dare To Soar with Dr. RC.”

School Social Work Association of America, 1789, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. School Social Work Association of America maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 7/27/2023-7/27/2026. ***This FREE TownHall event has NO CEs available. NO CEs will be provided for attendance. No assignments will be required for this course. System Requirements-- Participants must have a computer and audio to participate in the webinar.
