Autism Competency for School Social Workers (1.0 CE)
This course explores ways for school social workers to practice with children and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnoses. This course is 1.0 CE
Course Description: This course is focused on Autism Spectrum Disroder and school social work competency. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder which currently affects 1 in 36 individuals in the United States. Learning Objectives:
- Participants will review current information on autism, including symptoms and prevalence.
- Participants will review a research study on autism knowledge among school social workers.
- Participants will gain recommended learning competencies to improve upon practice knowledge when serving autistic students.
