Title: National Model 2.0 (Part):Anchoring School Social Work in the SSWAA National School Social Work Practice Model 2.0: A Path to Student Success, Education Equity, and Community Connection

Session Description: In a rapidly evolving educational landscape, the need for focused, impactful school social work is more critical than ever. This session empowers school social workers to align their practice with the National School Social Work Practice Model, ensuring that their roles are strategically centered on supporting student achievement. Participants will explore how the model helps prioritize essential responsibilities such as advocating for students' social-emotional well-being, building strong partnerships between home, school, and community, and driving school-wide initiatives that enhance academic outcomes. By grounding their work in this nationally recognized framework, school social workers can elevate their impact, strengthen collaboration with educators and families, and lead efforts that create equitable learning environments. Additionally, practitioners will benefit from additional role clarity for their work. This is a must-attend for any practitioner seeking to enhance their effectiveness and leadership in schools.

2. Develop Strategies to Foster Educational Equity – Participants will identify benefits of aligning their practice with the national model to enhance their ability to address and reduce systemic barriers, promote social-emotional well-being, and ensure equitable access to resources for all students.

3. Strengthen Collaboration Between Home, School, and Community – Participants will compare current practices with a closer alignment of their practice with the model to building stronger connections between home, school, and community, leading to improved student outcomes and a more inclusive, supportive school climate.
